Itinerary

Chamonix Mont Blanc is located 1 hour ride away from Geneva airport to the Haute-Savoie department in the Alpes region of southeastern France. It was the site of the first Winter Olympics in 1924. More than 2.5 million tourist visiting each year for the beauty of its snowy mountains, for its traditional french cuisine, and mountain activities like skiing, mountain biking and trailing. Take a self guided day tour in Chamonix city centre, and enjoy a shopping day on the top Europe!

From Chamonix centre, you can choose to catch a ride in one of the cute, red Glacier trains and go to Montenvers, to wonder the breathtaking view of the world famous Mere de Glace glacier! Mer de Glace is a compound valley glacier, gaining ice from snowfields that cover the heights directly north of Mont Blanc at an altitude of around 4,000 metres. It flows for a total distance of 12 kilometres, covering an area of 32 square kilometres. The iconic red Montenvers train runs on a rack and pinion (or cog) railway just over 5 kilometres in length (3.2 miles) and snakes its way up from Chamonix to the top station at 1,913 metres. The train was first put into use in 1908 when the line stopped at Caillet, and then fully opened all the way to the top in 1909.

Aiguille du midi is one of the main attractions in Chamonix, at 3842m on top of the Alps. Easily accessible by cable car. Peak in the panoramic look out, have a coffee in the snack bar, have a lunch in the restaurant! All can be done at 3842 m above ground. Bring your winter coat, cause the temperature can fall down to -10 degrees celsius, even in summer.

Great experience. The van was comfortable, and Gabor had the timing down so that we were able to enjoy each stop and avoided crowds. He was knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed the cheese factory, chocolate factory and palace very much! Also loved Gruyeres - very quaint village.

Gabor was our tour guide and he was fabulous! He was very knowledgeable and knew a lot about the history of The Gruyère castle, the Gruyère cheese factory and the chocolate factory along with the sightseeing along the way! If / when we come back to Geneva, we would request him again!

This was a nice trip out of Geneva with our guide Gabor in a comfortable minivan. The visit to Gruyère Castle was very scenic and the chateau was set up to imagine the history of the place. Views were stunning. Topping that off with a visit to the Callier chocolate factory was perfect. They have a unique tour experience.
